Another Perfect World

Another Perfect World, showing Tuesday June 23rd on more4 at 10:00pm

The True Stories strand, which showcases the best international feature documentaries, presents Jorien van Nes and Femke Wolting's fascinating insight into online virtual worlds. EvE - Online, Second Life, World of Warcraft, Metaplace, U World - all virtual worlds where the user can create their own paradise, far removed from real life.

People can create societies that range from the democratic to the dictatorial, have avatars that resemble their ideal and can engage in actions that their real life personality would never dream of doing, from cyber-sex to virtual crime. But who creates these worlds and are they the right people to be crafting idealised societies that pretend to address and solve the inadequacies of the real world?

new chronicle: spectral

reported by CCP Wrangler | 2009.06.16 12:20:12 | NEW

They say you get a new perspective on life as you get older, but what about your vision? What if, suddenly, every person you see glows with an inner light so intense it renders them almost translucent. Would you think you were going mad, or would you get that old implant replaced stat?

"Spectral" is a new EVE Chronicle written by CCP Abraxas. Published every other Monday, Chronicles are intended to examine the various aspects of life in New Eden. The entire list is contained here, and a comment thread for this particular story may be found here.

new chronicle: depth of field

reported by CCP Wrangler | 2009.06.02 17:57:00

That sound—that grinding, groaning, ripping sound—is enough to make any starfarer weak in the knees. It’s even worse when you know that its source will be the cause of your demise. When you’re in the midst of your ship’s destruction, everything becomes much clearer.

"Depth of Field" is a new EVE Chronicle written by CCP Technobabble. Published every other Monday, Chronicles are intended to examine the various aspects of life in New Eden. The entire list is contained here, and a comment thread for this particular story may be found here.

While knowledge of mission arcs are not required to enjoy reading Chronicles, the events of this Chronicle take place prior to the events of "The Blood-Stained Stars."
